CONFERENCE SCOPE

The Second International Conference on the Physics of Dusty
Plasmas (ICPDP-99) is the follow up of the First ICPDP held
in October 1996 at Goa, India. The present conference is aimed
to provide a forum for a large number of scientists from
different parts of the world in order to present their most
recent results, exchange information and discuss dusty
(fine particle) plasmas, which have emerged as a new
discipline in science with vast applications in space
science and astrophysics as well as in plasma processing
and microelectronics. The low temperature strongly coupled
dusty plasmas have been found in the form of crystals and they
are believed to play a very important role in environmental research.

TOPICS

    A. Basic Physics of Dust-Plasma Interaction
    B. Dynamics of Charged Dust Grains
    C. Role of Charged Dust Grains in Astrophysics, Geophysics and Space Plasma
    D. Collective Effects in Dusty Plasmas-Experiments, Theory and Simulations
    E. Physics of Strongly Coupled Dusty Plasmas
    F. Dust in Plasma Processing and Microelectronics
    G. High Z-Impurities in Fusion Plasma (ICF and Tokamaks)
    H. Plasma Crystals-Experiments, Theory and Simulations
    I. Role of Charged Dust Grains in Environmental Research

SESSIONS

    A. Review Lectures
    B. Topical Lectures
    C. Oral presentation of Selected Contributed papers
    D. Poster session

The official CONFERENCE language is English.

REGISTRATION FEE

The registration and conference fee of 35,000 Yen
(25,000 Yen for students) will cover an informal get-together,
banquet, the summary of abstracts and the conference proceedings.

CALL FOR PAPERS AND SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

The lecturers for the Review and Topical Talks will be invited
by the Program Committee on the recomendation of the
International Advisory Board members. Contributed papers
for oral and poster presentations will be selected by the
Program Committee on the basis of the submitted abstracts.

GUIDELINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

The TITLE should be written in 14 pt. bold capitals centred
at top of the page followed by authors names and affiliation
(12 pt.). The name of the presenting author should be underlined.
Please leave one line between title and authors and two lines
    between affiliation and text.

The abstract should be of one page in A4 size paper typed or
printed 1.5 spaced, 12 pt. Times font with full 25mm margin
    on all four sides.

Any figure or table included should be of size that is easily
readable. E-mail address of the presenting author should be
printed at the bottom of the page.
Please indicate the category of topic on the top by pencil.

Book of abstracts will be prepared from the original abstracts
submitted by the authors and will be distributed at the conference
    registartion desk.

Abstract should not be submitted through e-mail or fax.

The abstract should be mailed no later than October 15, 1998 to

        Dr. Toshiaki Yokota

PAPERS AND PUBLICATIONS

The Proceedings will be published after the Conference.
The manuscripts for the Review Talks and Contributed Papers
accepted for presentation at the Conference must be handed over
to the Scientific Secretary at the Conference. The detailed
instructions for preparation of the manuscripts will be sent to
the main author of each accepted paper prior to the meeting.

CONFERENCE SITE

The Conference will be held at the Hotel Hakone Kowaki en. The
town Hakone is located 80 km south-west of Tokyo and is 10 km
from Odawara city facing Sagami Bay. It is within the Fuji-Hakone
-Izu National Park where many spas (hot springs) exist. In the
Hakone area, with a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji, there are many
sightseeing places, e.g., Ashino Lake, an active volcano, a mountain
train and an open-air museum. In May, the day temperature (high)
in the area is 20 degree Celsius and may fall down (low) to 10
    degree Celsius at night.

ACCOMMODATION

All participants will be accommodated in the Hotel Hokone Kowaki-en
where the Conference will be held. The room charges including food
    (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are:

15,000 Yen per person in two beded/three beded rooms when shared.
25,000 Yen per person in two beded room in case of single occupancy.

TRAVEL SUPPORT

A limited number of participants from developing countries and Russian
federation may be provided travel support by the Organizing
    Committee.

The application should be submitted to Prof. Y. Nakamura.
